Here at Ashton St. Peter’s Church of England VA Primary School we have a lively, fun and committed team of supporters,
(SOAPS – Supporters of Ashton St. Peters Primary School)
From the day your child starts at our school they will benefit from using resources funded by money raised by parents. The committee work hard to raise additional funds for the school by planning, organising and running a variety of events and activities for both children and adults to enjoy. In the past we have held fun filled Christmas and Summer Fayres, ‘eggciting’ events at Easter, breakfast with Santa, film nights, and many more activities.
Examples of items funded by SOAPS include the ‘trim trail’ in the playground, funding a monthly magazine subscription ‘First News’ for the children, providing Christmas crackers at the Christmas meal and Hot Cross buns at Easter, to name but a few.
SOAPS is made up of staff and parent volunteers from all year groups. Everyone is welcome to join the committee to help to plan and run events. We have a great time raising funds to provide the ‘icing on the cake’. It is so worthwhile to see the fruits of our efforts in regular use at school. We always appreciate new ideas and feedback, so feel free to contact us, or to come along to a meeting or event. If you would like to get involved but are worried about how much you can do, don’t be! Nothing is too onerous, you can give as little or as much time as you can afford and there are always people on hand to answer any queries you may have.
Please keep coming back to our page as we update it regularly with news of future events, newsletters, photos and what SOAPS have or will be putting money towards. Also keep an eye on the “Info Screen” in reception.
Lastly, we would like to say a huge thank you to all of you for your continued support.
We very much look forward to seeing you at future events and welcoming new members to help our merry band!
